Gender-Inclusive Teaching Methodologies (WP3 A1)

The “Gender-Inclusive Teaching Methodologies” presents a comprehensive collection of gender-inclusive teaching methodologies aimed at supporting educators, trainers, and institutions in creating more equitable and inclusive learning environments—particularly within vocational education and the construction sector. At its core, it offers practical and adaptable strategies designed to address structural barriers and encourage meaningful participation from all learners, with a strong focus on empowering women and underrepresented groups. Organized into seven interconnected strategies, the resource moves from broad systemic approaches to concrete, classroom-level applications, covering areas such as empowerment, bias disruption, inclusive environments, representation, and visibility in construction careers.

Designed as both a structured guide and a flexible, modular toolkit, this document can be used by educators within the CoHER initiative and beyond to actively implement gender-inclusive practices. Each section follows a clear progression—from strategy to method to technique to case study—allowing users to either explore the full framework or select specific approaches tailored to their needs. Through real-world examples, practical exercises, and adaptable teaching tools, it bridges the gap between theory and implementation, helping educators create inclusive classrooms, challenge stereotypes, and support women’s participation in construction. Whether used to redesign curricula or introduce targeted interventions, this resource empowers users to build more inclusive, engaging, and transformative learning experiences.

Set of Innovative Teaching Tools and Methodologies (WP3 A3)

By using the “Set of Innovative Digital Teaching Tools and Methodologies“, educators can integrate a curated range of digital approaches into vocational education and training (VET) in the construction sector, making learning more interactive, accessible, and aligned with real-world industry practices. Structured around four key thematic areas—digital simulations and VR environments, project-based learning platforms, online collaboration tools, and gamification strategies—it provides practical, ready-to-use methodologies that improve hands-on learning, problem-solving, collaboration, and learner engagement. Developed by partners across six countries, the resource reflects diverse educational contexts and promotes inclusive, forward-looking teaching practices that can support a wide range of learners, including women entering the construction field.

Designed as a flexible and practical resource, this document can be used by educators within the CoHER project and beyond as both a structured guide and a modular toolkit. Users may engage with the document holistically or approach it modularly by reviewing individual tools presented in a consistent format. Each entry outlines the tool’s key features, advantages and limitations, as well as its potential applications in VET settings, supporting informed selection and practical implementation. This makes it particularly valuable for integrating gender-inclusive teaching approaches that help break barriers for women in construction, while also improving overall teaching quality. Whether used to redesign entire learning experiences or to introduce specific innovative practices, the document supports educators in creating more inclusive, engaging, and empowering training environments that reflect the evolving needs of the construction industry.
