Highlights from the CoHER Project Workshop and Pilot in Lublin!

An important meeting of the ConstructHer Future project partners in Lublin, Poland!

From 22 to 24 July 2025, project partners gathered in Lublin, Poland, for an intensive three-day workshop and piloting activities within the Erasmus+ ConstructHer Future initiative. This meeting formed a crucial part of Work Package 3: ConstructHer VET Educator Training and Development, bringing together representatives from Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, Hungary, and Ukraine.

During Activity 1: “Gender-Inclusive Teaching Methodologies” workshop (A1), partners presented strategies for creating inclusive environments in vocational education, addressing unconscious biases, and promoting women’s leadership in the construction sector. Practical exercises allowed participants to test specific group work techniques based on case studies of successful women in construction.

The range of methodologies was diverse, reflecting the project’s international partnership. Contributions included digital tools for inclusive teamwork, mentor-based learning, curriculum-wide inclusion strategies, and modular certification pathways, among others. Despite their different approaches, all partners shared a common goal: to strengthen equity in VET classrooms and empower women to pursue leadership and technical roles in the construction sector.

On 23 July, Activity 3 – Innovative Teaching Tools and Methodologies Pilot (A3), was introduced by FFI and continued into the following day. This activity focused on showcasing and testing new digital tools and approaches that can make vocational education more engaging, inclusive, and effective.

The partner presentations created a dynamic exchange of ideas, showcasing a diverse set of tools that could be grouped into four main categories. Digital simulation tools and VR environments included EON Reality VR and the VIRTEC interactive house simulation, which immerse learners in realistic construction scenarios. Project-based learning platforms such as the FigJam brainstorming tool and Lucidchart supported collaborative planning and workflow visualization. Online collaborative tools like Unreal Engine Blueprint, eXeLearning, ARIS, Genially, and Europeana Classroom resources combined innovation with cultural and educational perspectives. Finally, a wide range of gamification strategies was presented, from Kahoot!, Quizizz, and Minecraft: Education Edition to Badgr, Canva, and the “city block design challenge,” all intended to boost engagement, creativity, and inclusive.

The event concluded with a joint evaluation of the tools and planning of the next steps for project implementation. This marks an important step toward creating vocational education that breaks gender barriers and supports women in construction.

Together, we are building the future of women in the construction sector!
